Weather
What's the weather doing for your wedding or photo shoot?.
What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
First, don't panic. There are many great opportunities for photography, even in the most inclement of weather.
You probably don't want it to rain on your wedding day. But in many cultures, a rainy wedding is a good omen. The Italians have a saying for it
Sposa Bagnata, Sposa Fortunata (Wet Bride, Lucky Bride). Rain certainly can't be ruled out if you are getting married in Britain at any time of the year. As your photographer, I shall see it not as a challenge but as an opportunity to create some amazing images. The soft, diffused light of an overcast sky can enhance the way you look in photographs and a downpour on a summer's day leaves the world looking new and fresh.
You'll worry that your fabulous dress and fantastic hairdo will be ruined. Don't! Together, we'll do everything possible so that you stay clean and dry. Staying under cover as much as possible will be a must for your photographs. For example, if you're marrying in a church, we can consider the arched doorway for small formal groups. Think about umbrellas. They can look fabulous in posed wedding photos. If you're reasonably sure of rain a few days in advance, you can get 'wedding umbrellas' such as those from
Freestone Innovations. For larger groups, we can look to the reception venue for more opportunities. I'll even have my mini-studio on hand ready to deploy in a corner of the reception venue to add to the range of pictures we can make.
If you have chosen to have your wedding photography by Pictured 2 Perfection and it does rain, you'll still be feeling positive. We shall have discussed the possibility at our pre-wedding 'briefing' and we'll have an outline plan 'B' in place before the day. So, you can feel confident that come rain or shine, you'll have brilliant photographs that you'll want to treasure . . . always.
